Veterans HQ have been fundamental in driving the Veterans strategy forward in the City and the wider Liverpool City Region. Veterans HQ was born out of a programme of support for homeless men in the city and the need was identified to develop a joined up cohesive support programme for ex armed forces personnel, reservists and their families.
LVP HQ went live in June 2012 and now supports up to 300 individuals per year.
As HQ and its partnership continues to grow and develop we have a quality network of support organisations who we can refer in to which provides a unique personal support plan geared to the individuals and families own needs and requirements.
LVP HQ was the first one stop shop in England and Wales, a model that is now being used by other Veteran Support Agencies.
Veterans HQ is now recognised as the single point of contact for all veteran’s needs. Veterans, reservists and their families can gain access to employment support, education, training, housing support and health referrals. More recently, we have become a charity in our own right with a major new Patron supporting Veterans HQ.
Veterans HQ now employs a dedicated Custody Co-ordinator, a full time Families Officer and we have a Housing Officer, 2 x outreach buddies and a team of case workers who all provide a free and confidential support service to our veterans and the armed forces community.
